Stephen A. Schulte CP, LP, FAAOP, Head Practitioner
|
Stephen, along with his team at ProCare Prosthetics and Orthotics, played a vital role in the beginning process of Jarryd's life as an amputee. In their first meeting together, Stephen and his team shined light onto what Jarryd's life as an amputee would look like. They were with him every step of the way leading into his amputation and have become like a family since his amputation. Stephen's drive to make the most advanced legs on the market, mixed with his creativity and new found knowledge of track and field have given Jarryd a leg of his own, literally.
Stephen is an American Board Certified prosthetist, a member and fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, and a licensed practioner in the State of Georgia. Stephen is a graduate of the Certificate Program for Prosthetics at Northwestern University. With over 25 years of experience in the prosthetic industry, Stephen and his wife started ProCare in 1995. He has grown ProCare into a regional and national destination for amputee care and more specifically, high-end athletes. His current patient base includes the 1st EVER bi-lateral below-knee amputee to complete the Hawaiian Ironman, 1st EVER triple amputee to complete the Hawaiian Ironman, 1st EVER upper and lower extremity amputee to complete an Ironman, a 3-time Paralympic cyclist, a 3-time Paralympic volleyball player, a Paralympic skier, a 1st EVER sanctioned stand-up MMA fighter, 1st EVER above-knee Commercial Airline Pilot, and the current #1 ranked sprinter in the World in 100 meters (T-44) and Gold Medalist in 2011 Parapan American Games in 100 meters (T-44). Stephen embodies the notion of “Making it Possible” for any amputee he comes into contact with. |
