Along with building and maintaining Jarryd's legs in office, Laura has also joined the "field team," where she travels to meets with Jarryd. This allows him to focus more on the race itself, while she makes sure his legs are ready to run fast. Laura has played a big part the sophisticated and one of a kind design of Jarryd's racing leg, giving him not only a perfect fit, but a flashy look as well.
Laura is a Prosthetics clinician at ProCare Prosthetics & Orthotics and is an American Board Certified (ABC) Prosthetist and licensed practitioner in Georgia. Laura grew up and went to school in the Atlanta area. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2005 and worked as an engineer in Atlanta before beginning the Georgia Tech Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics program in 2006. Laura started with ProCare in 2007 as a technician while in school. After graduating in 2008, she returned to ProCare and completed her residency in 2009. Laura’s residency research focused on patient outcomes with various suspension types. She has continued this interest in patient outcomes as a clinician and enjoys working with patients to help them reach their individual goals. |
